One Stop Talk
One Stop Talk (OST) offers free, immediate access to online and phone counselling with a professional therapist for anyone aged 17 and under in Ontario. When needed, the service can also connect young people to ongoing services in their local community.
Our team was tasked with extending the brand and creating a website and marketing campaign for the launch of the program. We also developed bilingual educational and outreach materials for partners and communities.
After extensive consultation with youth, parents/guardians and children across Ontario, we built an engaging and informative microsite with the objective to inspire confidence in the service and remove the barriers target audiences have with respect to seeking and accessing mental health supports. The site is designed to be approachable and mobile first. The messaging is accessible and jargon-free for audiences of all ages and cultural backgrounds.
To promote the service province wide, we partnered with BOOM Intertribal and society, etc to first do a pilot launch in Sudbury and later, a province-wide campaign. The campaign created reflects a strength based approach with simple, direct and transformational messaging meeting people where they are and emphasizing a better outcome. Images of potential service users are intentionally not used so that anyone can see themselves in the message. This approach also avoids potential stereotypical, limitations or culturally insensitive representation.
