Royal College of Dentists of Canada Branding, Print & Digital
The Royal College of Dentists of Canada (RCDC) was established to promote high standards of specialization in the dental profession and to recognize properly trained dental specialists. This is accomplished through examinations created specifically for each dental specialty : National Dental Specialty Examination (NDSE).
Following a shift in strategic priorities, the RCDC engaged us to create the visual identity for the NDSE. While the RCDC’s brand is very formal, traditional and established, the identity for the NDSE had to appeal to a younger and more diverse demographic while maintaining the essence of a well established organization.
Our approach was to develop a visual identity that could adapt to take on a more or less formal tone depending on the intended use. In some applications, a more sophisticated gold and charcoal pallet is applied while a broader and more colourful palette is used to identify various disciplines covered by the NDSE. The brand assets and materials were developed in both English and French.
As part of our work with RCDC, we also developed a unique user experience and design for the user interface for the new NDSE website. The final site ensures bilingual functionality, has a responsive layout and is fully AODA compliant. All content is managed with an easy-to-use, comprehensive content management system.
